Notice that she is British, so many Americans may group these sounds differently she does. As you compare your judgments to hers, think about the differences you might find in your own classroom. Do all of your students sound the same when they talk? What are the systematic differences that each student exhibits in their every day pronunciations? How might you deal with these differences as you’re teaching them to read?
